This two day course involves the following:
In order to be an active participant in small and big game hunting there is one tool that you must understand and safely and responsibly master and that is the RIFLE and its ancillary parts: i.e. the telescopic sight and the ammunition it fires.
This is a two day crammer course for the novice who wishes to learn about the rifle, the scope and the ballistics before they venture forth out into the hunting fields. But also this course is excellent for someone who wishes to transition from the discipline of shotgun shooting or has not picked up a rifle in many years!
The course is designed to be practical in its nature and not classroom based. So there is a lot of time spent shooting on the range shooting.
You will be taught using rimfire and centrefire rifles. Rifles used on the crammer course can be used by both left and right handed persons.
It is a one on one taught course, set on a private range. The range is an outdoor range with a covered shooting bench.
Our instructors have over 30 years of practical rifle experience and training. All instructors are qualified NRA RSOs – Range Safety Officers and NRA qualified Club Instructors. All our instructors have over 30 years’ experience of hunting all over the world from mainland Europe to Africa; America to Central Asia.
On the course, we will cover the following:
- The Marksmanship Principles
- Fundamentals of ballistics
- Fundamentals of rifle craft
- Fundamentals of sight craft
- Hunter craft
- Safe & responsible shooting practices in the Field
- Range safety
- UK Firearms Law
- Close and long range shooting practices
At the end on the two days course, there will be a shooting test in order to put into practice everything you have been taught over the two days. The shooting test will also allow you to enter into our prize draw.
Courses are run all year round.
